Welcome to the website of Scotland’s oldest independent museum. The museum’s collections are housed in a Grade A listed building at the east end of the High Street. Here you will find objects displayed from all around the world, but especially from Moray, dating from before the dinosaurs to the present day. Please explore our website to find out what we have on offer: changing exhibitions, school visits, family events, resources for heritage and collections research and a stunning wedding venue.

You may have heard that we have recently lost one of our normal sources of funding in that Moray Council feel that they can no longer provide a grant to the Museum and so, we now have to fund all of our activities, including outreach to schools and old people’s homes through other methods.  If you feel that you would like to help to support our activities, please click on the ‘Donate’ button below.

Open Mon to Fri 10am to 5pm: Saturday 11am to 4pm (April to October)
