Kinloss Abbey Guided Tour

2.30pm – 4.30pm, 28th May 2017

Join us at Kinloss Abbey, Kinloss, on Sunday 28th May 2017 for a guided tour of the ruins of this 12th Century AD former Cistercian Abbey.

Peter Grant Peterkin, of Kinloss Abbey Trust, will provide a fascinating insight into the history of the site and its development, as well as an update on the work of the Trust.

This event is free but booking is essential! Please note: booking is via an online ticketing service not through the Museum direct.

Please note: car parking on site is limited, please car share where possible. Unfortunately, no public transport is available as the bus service does not operate on Sundays.

Please note: the ground on site is uneven, and may not be suitable for those with limited or restricted mobility. This is an outdoor event, so please wear suitable clothing & sturdy footwear.

This tour is provided thanks to the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and forms part of Elgin Museum’s year of History, Heritage & Archaeology events programme.

Annette M. Purdie: Lost in Nature

Wednesday 31st May 2017 – Saturday 29th July 2017

The influence of the natural world constantly drives the direction of the work of Annette M. Purdie. Areas of Scotland and Yorkshire, where the artist previously lived, and memories from travel elsewhere in the world, evoke an abundance of inspiration. Adding a certain amount of imagination also provides further scope for interpretation of the above in sometimes a more impressionistic, rather than figurative way.
