Learning and Outreach

While the Museum is closed due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation we will be sharing activities with you online and via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

At Elgin Museum we want to help the people of Moray and visitors here to engage with the history of the area for their entertainment, education and enjoyment. It is key for us to work with the young people, encouraging them to see their heritage as something accessible and relevant to them, something which encourages their growth as responsible citizens, confident individuals, successful learners and effective contributors.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a dedicated Learning and Outreach Officer – please contact us with any learning enquiries.

Links to activities will be added below throughout our closed period. If you’d like to find out more, or would like copies of activities sent out to you, please contact us by email: curator@elginmuseum.org.uk

Explore! Elgin Museum

Explore! Elgin Musuem - children's guide

As part of our 2017 HLF-funded project, we created an exciting children’s activity book and town centre trail, “Explore! Elgin Museum. It can be downloaded (3mb pdf) or you can pick up a free copy on your next visit to the museum – not only can you explore where some of our objects were originally found but you can also design your own museum!

Elgin Museum is grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Robertson Trust for their support in making these activities possible.
